Freckles is a 5yr 16.3 draft cross mare. She was purchased from her breeder. Her sire is a percheron/friesian and her dam is a spotted draft mare. Freckles was started undersaddle last year (2024) and had about three months but sat until we bought her and now she has several months going with us in the ring, trails, xc, jumps, etc. Her siblings are well known for making mounted police horses/driving/trails/dressage and more.

If you are looking for a stunningly gorgeous horse that is quiet beyond words and safe on the trails she is all of that! I think she will do dressage, trails, foxhunting and honestly would be a cool driving horse in my opinion although I don't know much about driving. This mare is as dependable as they come out and about. She is just very unflappable to ride. See her trail video where she lead most of the time into the pond, across mud/water, bridges, traffic, so much more. She is part mountain goat. Happy to go straight up and down the toughest terrain! She is happy to lead or follow. You can see Justin riding her side saddle and doing some tricks on her just because you can. She rides english/western. She carries the flag. See her trail video here https://youtu.be/kBv9hhdsrEs

Her groundwork is very good. She stands quietly for grooming, tacking, mounting, etc. She is great in turnout and in her stall. She shipped nicely here. Loads/unloads/ties to the trailer.

When I tell you her brain is just quiet it will be very apparent. There are some horses that are just bred/born that way. She is still green but also the kind of green where you would feel like she is safe to send anyone out on her without worrying. There is no spook. Nothing silly. She is quietly walk/trot/cantering around in the ring and in the field. Same horse no matter how much time off she has always the same.

She has been learning to lunge and stretch down. She is the type that has a bit more of the knee action but when she stretches down it really is quite nice. We introduced her to trotting over some jumps which she thought was interesting but also boring. She didn't make much of an effort but at the same time I really don't expect it all to come together on the first go. She was game to go right on over anything and everything which to me is just a highlight of the brain that she has. The rest is just training!

She just had her dental/feet/worming. She has no injuries and no vices. Barefoot with nice feet. The only thing I can remotely say bad about her is she doesn't love her ears messed with. Haltering is no problem but we loosen up the bridle.
