Pint- 4yr 16 draft cross gelding that is absolutely stunning and just insanely well started. Sometimes the scrolling through facebook catches me stopping on a horse that I must go watch and that was the case with Pint. Sure he looked cool but also you could just tell he had all the foundation that makes a good horse good! There are horses that I just put in the category of truly solid citizens that I would put anyone on and know they will be safe and have fun. I think this horse could do anything and everything. He is another that my riders just rave about. He has all the fancy buttons- sliding stop, spins, side pass and so much more. English, western, trails and he taken to jumping like has been doing it forever. I just think some horses are certified good boy types and this is one of them.
Pint was ranch broke and all the work was done so nicely. This horse is just plain broke. He stays in where you put him. Such a good shape in the body. Excellent in the balance. Light, soft and just sits there. That canter...my god that canter. I mean look I am sure he has only been ridden western but when I watched his videos I saw the canter and thought yes that horse will be great english and he will have a super jump. I will say some horse shoppers have struggled a bit with the canter as it is pretty uphill and feels a bit different. I also am aware he has some different movement which you either love or hate :) I personally do not think it matters for hunting/eventing/jumpers which is where he will excel!
Pint is another horse that came with a western background but has took to jumping like he was born to do it. This horse LOVES to jump. He will get you to the other side no matter what. I don't care if you ride like a monkey he will be like yes this is my jam here we go. He is jumping nicely in the ring, field at home and absolutely rocked his first XC schooling like I knew he would. My rider was having just so much fun he kept saying this horse just wants to do more and jump bigger fences. Pint is as game as they come and you cannot help but love jumping when you are sitting on this horse. I feel like I run into so many adult ammy riders who just aspire to do a 1* on a safe fun type and he checks the boxes for sure!
He has been out trail riding and also been out foxhunting. He headed out first field and was happy to go anywhere I put him. He could care less about the hounds right at his feet or popping out of the fields. He handled the chaos very well. Even got buzzed by a horse running off and kept his composure like a champ! Our schedule got so jammed but I absolutely intend to hunt this one a heck of a lot more. I think he is so much fun! He is light, uphill, doesn't pull and is just a nice ride.
He is also one of those horse you meet and just think he is wise beyond his years. He is so so quiet in the barn you almost forget that he is there. He doesn't put a foot wrong with anything. When it is time to work, well he shows up and he will work all day long. There is no lack of work ethic on this one. He is athletic and built to do a job. You get the draft brain with whatever in the world he could be crossed with that added some athletic ability/stamina.
Pint is sound. Excellent feet. No vices. No issues. Just does all the things. I mean this horse is beyond cool. I don't think you find many like this on the market. He wasn't cheap to buy but honestly he was worth it and anything of his caliber is super hard to find. People ask me all the time where I find my horses and the answer is all over! I have no qualms buying something that just speaks to me as one that will fit into our world. I think he will go western, do ranch work, trails, hunt, event, dressage and anything in between. Not to mention he is gorgeous and the sweetest creature you will meet.
